I have put together this website and fundraising effort with three goals in mind:
- Raise awareness about colon cancer to help others avoid having to face the tough battle that I went through.
- Raise over $20,000 for the National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance by June 29, 2003 to fund prevention, early detection, and treatment of colon cancer.
- Complete Ironman Coeur d'Alene in under 12 hours.
Now that the race has come and gone I'm thrilled to say that I was very sucessful my goals. Not only did I finish Ironman Coeur d'Alene with a smile,
but I was able to raise awareness and over $38,000 for the NCCRA! The 96 degree heat did slow my finishing time down to a little over 13 hrs rather than under 11 hrs
as I had hoped for, but regardless, I'm very happy with how I did given the conditions.
